Managing Director Interaction with Ex-Servicemen

1.         Fauji Foundation is undertaking massive welfare activities for its Ex-Servicemen in the field of healthcare, education and re-employment.  However, the magnitude and impact of these welfare activities is not known / recognized by the Ex-Servicemen, primarily because of lack of formal interaction by any senior officer of Fauji Foundation with the stakeholders. Moreover, there is no feedback from the stakeholders, which can be very useful for further improvement in our welfare spectrum. Considering the importance of the same, Managing Director Fauji Foundation desired to initiate a system of interaction with Ex-Servicemen on regular basis.

2.         The two fold objective of this interactions to reach out to Ex-Servicemen, explaining them all welfare measures being undertaken by Fauji Foundation, its capacity / financial constraints and to seek feedback for requisite improvements, where possible. Accordingly, the interactions with Ex-Servicemen are being planned all over the country in all regions. 

3.         To start with, the first interaction with Ex-Servicemen of Districts of North Region (excluding Northern Areas) was held on 30 Sep 2018 at Foundation University Islamabad Campus at Rawalpindi. Over 300 Ex-servicemen including families of Shuhda and War Wounded Disabled persons from various districts of North Region attended the function and graced the occasion. Apart from Ex-Servicemen, Officers from Pakistan Armed Services Board, Secretaries District Armed Services Boards and a large number of Honorary Welfare Officers also attended the function. With a view to have a close and intimate interaction with Ex-Servicemen, all the heads of welfare projects (Healthcare and Education) from respective districts also participated in the function.

4.         Ceremony started with recitation from Holy Quraan. After recitation, Director Human Resources & Administration Division presented the “SPASNAMA”, in which he dilated upon the history of Fauji Foundation and apprised the audience about various current welfare measures/activities being undertaken by Fauji Foundation for welfare of Ex-servicemen and Beneficiaries in the field of Healthcare, Education, and Provision of Employment. Thereafter, Managing Director Fauji Foundation addressed the audience. In his address, Managing Director Fauji Foundation while highlighting about financial constraints being faced by the organization, apprised the audience about various future plans / steps being undertaken to enhance the capacity of the organization while broadening the scope of welfare activities, with a view to reach out maximum beneficiary population.

5.         In shape of a “Question/Answer Session”, Ex-servicemen were also afforded an opportunity at the forum to air / highlight the issues / problems being faced in their respective areas, whereupon Ex-Servicemen put across their issues / problems and also made valuable suggestions / proposals. Moreover, Managing Director Fauji Foundation alongwith respective Directors had an exclusive interaction session with the Shuhda Families, listened to their personal issues/problems falling in the ambit of the organization and issued on spot directives to resolve these issues / problems. In addition, Ex-servicemen were also given a chance to have personal hearings / interactions with the General Managers / Senior Managers of Education, Health and Human Resource Departments at respective desks established for the purpose for submitting their personal applications, besides giving suggestions / proposals for affecting improvement in provision of existing healthcare and education facilities.

6.         During the ceremony a beautiful and inspiring tableau was presented by children of Fauji Foundation schools, besides singing of national anthem by all participants at the end of the ceremony.

7.         Before departure, Ex-Servicemen were served with the lunch and financial assistance was disbursed among Shuhdas’ Families and War Wounded Disabled Persons.
